The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations is pleased to announce the venues for the Digital Humanities conference in 2017 and 2018.
In 2017, the Digital Humanities will take place in Montreal, a multilingual and multicultural city in the Francophone province of Quebec in Canada. The conference will take place August 8-11, 2017 on the historic campus of McGill University in the heart of downtown Montreal, and will be co-organized by l’Université de Montréal. The theme of the DH2017 is ‘Access,’ which will guide both the local organizers (Stéfan Sinclair and Michael Sinatra) and the Program Committee chaired by Diane Jakacki. In addition to the many local attractions including museums, festivals, restaurants and cafés, Montreal has a wide variety of activities and day camps available to families.
Au plaisir de se voir à Montréal! See you in Montreal!
In 2018, the Digital Humanities Conference will be held in Mexico City. The conference will be hosted by El Colegio de México and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in alliance with the Red de Humanidades Digitales (RedHD). This is the first time that DH will be held in Latin America. The conference organizers aim to make DH2018 a truly transnational and inclusive event. The geographical situation of Mexico makes it an ideal locale for converging digital humanists from distinct cultures, contexts, and socio-political realities to network, reflect, collaborate, exchange information, and initiate innovative projects. Mexico City is an energetic and modern metropolis with history dating back to the XIV century when founded by the Aztecs. The conference venue is located in downtown Mexico City and close to numerous tourist attractions and museums such as the Museum of Anthropology, the Zócalo, the Palace of Fine Arts and the National Palace. Mexico City and the surrounding areas have a vast offering of place that are of historical, archaeological, gastronomical, architectural, cultural and natural interest. The dates for the conference are 24th to 30th June, 2018. We look forward to welcoming you to Mexico City in 2018!
