Call for ADHO Awards Committee Incoming Deputy Chair

ADHO invites applicants to join the ADHO Awards Committee.

Purpose: Through its Award Committee, ADHO honors members of the DH community by acknowledging outstanding scholarly, pedagogical, and other contributions in the digital humanities, and through the awards program, promotes the inclusivity and visibility of the digital humanities community worldwide. 

Responsibilities of the committee:

  • Organizing the nomination of people for ADHO awards, including the Busa, Zampolli, and Fortier prizes, and Conference Bursary awards (NB: the selection of the Busa and Zampolli prize winners is undertaken by the Constituent Organization Board, COB);
  • Regularly reporting on Awards Committee activities to the Executive Board, and consulting with the Executive Board on important strategic, operational, and management issues relating to the planning and operation of the awards processes;
  • Reviewing the protocols for each ADHO award and proposing changes from time to time as appropriate;
  • Ensuring appropriate publication of the papers prepared and delivered by award recipients;
  • Considering possible new awards or related ways to encourage new forms of activity in the digital humanities, e.g., encouraging participation by new scholarly communities.

Structure: The Award Committee consists of 3 people: a Chair, a Deputy Chair, and an Incoming Deputy Chair; all positions are appointed by the COB. This position has a three-year term with the first year as Incoming Deputy Chair (beginning immediately), the second year as Deputy Chair, and the third year as Chair (through the end of the DH2029 conference).
