Call for Applications: 2025-2026 ADHO Communications Fellowship

The Alliance of Digital Humanities Organizations (ADHO) seeks applicants for one 2025-2026 Communications Fellowship, which comes with a one-time stipend of €500 (Euros).

Each year, a Communications Fellow works with ADHO’s Communications Officer and Deputy Communications Officer to manage ADHO’s public communications activities. The fellowship is well-suited for graduate students, emerging scholars, and academic professionals who wish to develop a deeper knowledge of digital humanities and its global communities, contribute to an important digital humanities scholarly and professional organization, and gain professional experience in communications. The Fellow should be involved in an organization that does digital humanities work (e.g. academic context, library, museum, gallery, etc).

In 2025-26, Communications Fellow will focus on revising and simplifying the ADHO website. This work will include assessing the current structure and content, identifying redundancies and outdated information, improving navigation and usability, ensuring consistency across pages, and supporting the integration of updated resources and announcements. The Communications Fellow will collaborate with ADHO committees and SIGs to enhance accessibility, and make the website a more effective hub for the digital humanities community.

Work Environment

The communications team works remotely, communicating via email, Mattermost, and video calls. The Communications Fellow must have regular access to a computer and internet connection. In 2025, the fellowship will begin as soon as possible after 30 September 2025 and will end on 31 October 2026.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Communications Fellow commits an average of 2-3 hours per week of work throughout the year.

Responsibilities include

  • Collaborating with ADHO’s Communications Officer and Deputy Communications Officer and other members of the Executive Board to draft and edit official ADHO communications to be published to the ADHO website and to be shared via ADHO social media accounts, relevant email lists, and in other online venues;
